Tea:

Mycroft: Would prefer leaf tea maybe of a particular brand, Fortnam and Mason,for instance and maybe a particular blend - they will blend tea for you. But, would drink ordinary tea bag tea at most work meetings. In his own office he might have leaf tea he's bought himself but most other offices won't.

Sherlock: Will drink either, there isn't an awful lot of difference and it's all fuel. He does know how to do it properly as we see with Moriarty but I suspect he prefers coffee.

John: Ex-Army so any type of tea, of any quality as long as it's hot, and strong.

Biscuits:

Mycroft: On a diet. He might prefer Digestives thought.

Sherlock and John: Anything, except perhaps those pink wafer things but they probably wouldn't buy them regularly. Digestives, Hob Nobs, chocolate digestives would all be fine in fic.

John and drinking. To be in the pub five hours he'd have had to have started very early. If he'd gone alone it would be a far shorter time, pubs are fairly boring for a lone drinker, in a group he might have had something to eat, seen a band play in the pub or gone to a pub quiz. He'd probably drink bitter, I think we see him with some in Baskerville, thought lager isn't out of the question, it's often all you can get in the Army. I'd see John drinking one of the popular real ale brands such as London Pride and to get him to that state he'd need five to seven pints depending on the strength and his particular resistance to alcohol.If you want him drunk quicker, beer with a whisky chaser would be usual - four pints and four measures of whiskey would have him merry but not falling over drunk.
